When it comes to Serengeti highlights there are so many (as alluded to previously), but there is quite simply nothing to match the migration with its sheer numbers, noise, majesty, and splendor. Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. At 14,763 square kilometers in size, the Serengeti is arguably the finest national park in Africa and offers a wealth of wildlife. This Serengeti National Park & Ngorongoro Crater tout offers wonders of Africa Safari. This safari takes you to Serengeti National park for a whole day, almost 2 days in the Serengeti and1 whole crater tour in Ngorongoro.
Exploring the unique Ngorongoro Crater – surrounded by the towering volcanic walls on every side and blessed with prolific and extremely well-habituated wildlife – almost feels like you’re driving through a zoo; only the surrounding crater scenery is jaw-droppingly impressive. With the greater Serengeti ecosystem so blessed with wildlife and scenic beauty, it is hard to imagine it could have anything more to offer, but the great East African migration steals the show.
In the morning we will depart to the Serengeti National Park from Moshi. We will take the scenic route to the Serengeti passing along the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Serengeti is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa; it also features spectacular river crossings and is home to all the big predators. You have the opportunity to marvel at the view whilst enjoying an appetizing picnic lunch on a kopje (small hill in a generally flat area). We will resume our journey and progress further into the Serengeti for a game drive. When the game drive is completed you will proceed to the Serengeti Camp, full-board camping is on offer. Day one Serengeti Safari and Ngorongoro Crater Tour 3 days.
The day will begin in the central Serengeti where you will have an opportunity to view the game. Lunch will be served in the park before we proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater has a diverse ecological system that includes lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, elands, wild dogs, gazelles, crocodiles, giraffe, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, and antelopes. There are migrant birds from Eurasia and African birds such as vultures, storks, and flamingos. The majority of the plantation can be described as luscious and green but there are species of desert plants. The probability of what species you are likely to see all depends on the time of year and the migration of the herds. We will drive to the rim of the crater in the afternoon and spend the night at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge. Day two Serengeti Safari and Ngorongoro Crater Tour 3 days.
We will have an early departure from camp to ensure that we arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater promptly. We will descend into the crater as our game drive with a picnic lunch is inside the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is an immense, unbroken caldera that was formed when a volcano erupted millions of years ago. The elevated structure encourages the animals to subside within the crater which means there is a high possibility of spotting every member of ‘The Big 5’. The powerful group comprises buffalo, lions, rhinos, elephants, and leopards. You can expect to see other wildlife including zebra, hippos, wildebeest, and hyenas. The flamingos will lounge gracefully on the banks of the Soda Lake whilst the vultures can be found scavenging for the discarded prey of a predator. Geese and storks are amongst some of the other bird species. Our guides are highly skilled and their ability to track down animals is impressive. This level of expertise is not easily acquired. Your trip will come to an end in the late afternoon and we will proceed to Arusha. Transportation to the airport or Arusha can be arranged on request. Day three Serengeti Safari and Ngorongoro Crater tour 3 days.
