8 days Mount Kilimanjaro trekking is the adventure of a lifetime, due to its good looking and remoteness. Basically, eight days Lemosho route trek maximizes the chance for summit success for most trekkers who set their legs on attempting to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro every year. There is the option of adding an extra night and making it for 9 days.

In 8 days Kilimanjaro climbs the Lemosho route you will have a large extent of acclimatization on the mountain by trekkers by joining longer distances, long stretches on the mountain, and good altitude gains.

Drive to Londorossi Gate, Hike to Mti Mkubwa Camp

Pick up from your hotel and drive to the gate for registration and start the trek. Arrival at the Londorossi gate marks the beginning of 8 days of Mount Kilimanjaro trekking. You will begin hiking 6 km distance through montane forest climate for 3 hours space trek. This is the height from 1830m to 2650m high reaching the Mti Mkubwa camp, where you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 24 hours

Hike to Shira 1 Camp

You will have breakfast in the morning then trek for 4-5 hours moving 8km ahead from the camp through Moorland climate. This is from 2650m to 3500m high which is at the Shira 1 camp, where you will have overnight.

Hike to Shira 2 Camp

On this day after taking breakfast at the camp, you will continue with the trekking adventure moving from 3500m to 3850m high. This is 8km from the camp through moorland habitat where your destination will be the Shira camp. in the camp you will have dinner will be served before overnight.

Day 45 hours

Hike to Barranco Camp

After breakfast in the morning, you will proceed from your previous destination hiking from 3850m to 4000m high which is 8km ahead. It will take you about 5-6 hours to reach the Barranco camp where you will be passing through moorland habitat while trekking. At the camp you will have dinner will be served and overnight.

Hike to Karanga Camp

You will begin the day with breakfast then climb from the camp at 4000m high to Karanga valley camp at 4050m high at the Karanga camp. This is a 5km distance taking you 3-4 hours to pass through the Alpine desert to reach the camp. In the camp, you will have overnight after dinner.

Hike to Barafu Camp

In the morning after breakfast, you will then hike from 4050m to 4700m high reaching the Barafu camp which is 4km ahead of your previous destination. you will spend 3-4 hours trekking through Alpine desert climate reaching the camp where you will have dinner plus overnight.

Day 76 hour up and 5 hours down

Hike to Summit then down to Mweka Camp

On this day you will trek from 4700mto 5895m high after breakfast reaching the summit and stay for some minutes. then you will descend to 3090m high at Mweka camp where you will have dinner and the overnight. This will be a total distance of 5km for 5-7 hours ascending and 13km for 5-6 hours descending passing through Stone scree and ice-capped.

Final trek from Mweka camp to Mweka gate, drive to the hotel

After breakfast, you will descent to Mweka Gate to receive your summit certificates. Lower elevations can be wet and muddy so put gaiters and trekking poles handy. From the gate, you will meet a waiting vehicle then drive to the hotel/or airport. End.
